Millennials, Gen Z flock to restaurants weekly: survey
Good food is seen as a key factor in the dining experience.
Millennials and Generation Z are opting to dine out once a week, with a majority flocking to food markets.
According to a dining habits survey from Lightspeed, 39% of people under age 35 eat out at least once a week. Of those who dine out at least once a month, nearly half (49%) were 45 and older.
The research, which polled approximately 1,000 consumers in the UK, also revealed that half of the respondents agree that good food was "the greatest factor" in their dining experience, followed by 30% who believed a combination of customer service, price and speed are required to elicit a positive review.
Generation Z and millennials are also the most likely demographic to reach for their wallets, with 49% spending over £250 per month are under 35. Of all surveyed, 82% spend at least £100 per month.
Whilst pubs continues to be popular (with 48% of all surveyed most often eat at pubs and half are over the age of 45), 63% of Generation Z and millennials are flocking to food markets.
