Pubs, bars, and restaurants are experiencing testing times, as the next generation moves further away from the routines and social activities of previous generations, according to a report from BlackBx.
Surveying more than 2,000 consumers in the UK, the research shows that 38% only try new venues to eat of drink less than once a year with the majority only trying a new venue every six months or less.
Millennials (85%) are the most regular pub patrons while Gen-Zs (46%) are the least. Notably, half of the respondents say they only try new venues when given a prompt by 78% say their favourite pub or bar puts "little or no effort" into marketing new deals and events.
One in five respondents, meanwhile, say they only go to their favourite venue on special occasions.
77% Londoners say they have a pub they consider their "local", 20% above the national average; 69% say they try a new venue once a month or more, or whenever a new venue opens. 47%, meanwhile, know their local landlords or restaurant/cafe owners, second only to Northern Ireland's 50%.
