Over six in ten restaurateurs see better ROI from Facebook: survey
Costs remain a major concern for brands wanting to implement new technologies.
Six in ten UK restaurant owners see a better return of investment from Facebook compared to Instagram (35%), according to a survey from customer engagement solutions firm Givex.
“There is a huge untapped opportunity for restaurants to use social media to reward their customers, and increase loyalty,” Givex managing director Jurgen Ketel commented on the results.
“With so many customers on social media, it’s the perfect platform to tap into,” he added.
The survey, which asked more than 200 restaurant officials, also revealed that 70% saw costs as their biggest challenge when implementing new technology, followed by training staff (57%) and integrating with existing systems (38%).
It was also found that restaurant operators would want stock-taking to become automated, as well as menu and price changes (45%) and booking tables (42%).
“Eating out is still a physical experience, but it’s becoming more automated, more streamlined and ultimately more convenient for both consumers and restaurant owners,” Ketel said.
