Slurping and other annoying habits British hate when eating

82% of Brits don’t like to have dinner with loud eaters.

Eight out of 10 Brits don’t like to have dinner with people who eat too loud, research by the Japanese restaurant YO! reveals.

This is just one of the things Brits hate when they eat out.

In Japan, slurping is considered respectful but in the UK 64% of Brits say noisy eating is the most annoying habit of all time.

Meanwhile, messy eating is also a pain for most Brits. One in five don’t like eating finger food like pigs in blankets and fried chicken due to a fear of getting sticky fingers.

Because of this, foods that are likely to be avoided by customers are fried chicken (39%), camembert (34%), and filo parcels (31%).

That’s why YO! introduced their Finger Lickin’ Gloves across its restaurants in the UK for guests eating its Japanese Fried Chicken buckets to keep their hands clean.

The finger gloves have been trialled in Japan previously, but this is the first time the move has come to UK shores. The Finger Lickin’ Gloves are made from recycled materials and are reusable and recyclable.
