Café Rouge to publish ‘detailed' access guides from AccessAble
The guides will be available in the companies’ websites and apps.
Café Rouge has announced that it will become the first major restaurant group to provide ‘detailed’ access guides of its facilities to disabled persons, carers and persons with access requirements.
The move, in partnership with AccessAble, will see guides available via both the Café Rouge and AccessAble websites as well as AccessAble’s free iOS and Android apps. These will detail the facilities available across its estate, ranging from car parking spaces and accessible toilets to hearing loops and lighting levels.
“We recognised that three out of four people with access needs will not visit a new place unless they have the confidence that such guides can bring,” Café Rouge brand director Greg Gibbons said in a statement. “By working closely with AccessAble to publish the Guides, we can make the vital move to ensuring that the well-loved, traditional Café Rouge offer and the heritage of the brand can be enjoyed by all.”
AccessAble aims to help people with a wide range of accessibility requirements including visual and mobility impairments, autism, mental health issues and long-term health conditions. The guides are also designed to assist others with access needs, such as parents with prams or the elderly.
