Ed's Diner revamps UK restaurants and service model
It is refreshing its menu, adding build-your-own burgers, and a new range of shakes.
The American themed casual dining chain, owned by Boparan Restaurant Group, is introducing a pay at the counter service similar to that used by Nando’s and Five Guys.
Boparan Restaurant Group CEO Tom Crowley said, "Over the next few months, we will be launching our new look Ed’s Diners across the UK. We’ve given the Americana inspired interior some love, adding some colourful neons, brand new Liquid Sunshine stations and a pay at counter system to speed up our service and give our guests more control over their dining experience."
He added, "As part of the revamp, we’ll also be refreshing our menu, adding build-your-own burgers, 24-hour marinated fried chicken, waffles, all day breakfasts, and a new range of shakes featuring Lucky Charms and Coco Pops. Mains will start with an entry price of £5 for our little hamburger."
The new format has debuted at Bond Street and Lakeside restaurants, and it aims to introduce Ed's Easy Diner with a slightly shorter and concise name. It will feature liquid sunshine stations which offer touchscreen, bottomless soft drinks, with the option to add cherry, lime, strawberry or vanilla. There are also bottomless hot drinks stations which offer a full range of hot drinks.
