Tim Hortons secures trio of drive-thru locations

The chain has been open in wanting more sites with the channel.

Tim Hortons has signed an agreement to take 9,874 sq ft of restaurant and drive-thru space across Landsec’s retail and leisure parks in Boldon, Bentley Bridge, and Lakeside.

The Boldon restaurant will cover 3,185 sq ft, whilst the Bentley Bridge and Lakeside restaurants span 3,500 and 3,189 sq ft, respectively, and only the second in their regions.

“We are looking throughout the UK for new spaces to expand the Tim Hortons brand, and extend our community guest base in the country. These three deals allow us to roll-out our globally recognised brand in places that haven’t experienced it yet, and we look forward to welcoming people both in-store and through our drive-thrus in due course,” Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer at Tim Hortons, said in a statement.

Daniel Rabin, portfolio director at Landsec, added: “While there was a lot of interest in these three spaces, the Tim Hortons offer really stood out. They give us a point of difference – these three being either the first or second within their region – and their plans to incorporate drive-thrus is a clear statement of their commitment to all three places.”

Cushman & Wakefield, Pudney Shuttleworth, and Montagu Evans acted for Landsec whilst MMX Retail represented Tim Hortons.
