Carluccio's administrators get bids after chain's collapse

Majority of its staff have been furloughed.

Bids have been made for parts of the Carluccio's business after the dining chain collapsed into administration.

As reported by the Shropshire Star, interested parties have offered to buy restaurant sites and the brand, after the deadline for bids closed.

Supermarket giant Tesco is said to have expressed an interest in purchasing a small number of sites, which may be converted into Express stores.

Carluccio's employs about 2,000 staff. The majority of staff, founded by Antonio Carluccio in 1991, have been furloughed whilst the insolvency specialists assess all available options.

The chain collapsed into administration last month after the impact of coronavirus exacerbated the firm's financial difficulties.
