Pizza Hut UK & Ireland announces major brand overhaul
The changes will focus on the taste of the pizza and the retraining of staff.
Pizza Hut UK & Ireland announced that it will undergo a major brand re-set that will focus on taste and experience.
Part of this rebranding is the launch of a new Handcrafted range, made with sourdough style dough, hand-stretched inside the restaurant and topped off with iconic garlic sprinkles.
To enable this, Pizza Hut embarked on a major retraining programme resulting in 23,000 practice pizzas.
Meanwhile, to support the new Handcrafted range, Pizza Hut came up with three limited edition recipes: the Chicken Fajitas, fiery Pepperoni & Nduja and The Spicy Goat, which will be available alongside Pizza Hut favourites, such as the Margherita, Meat Feast, Pepperoni Feast and the Supreme range – all on the new Handcrafted bases.
The new research was the result of a taste test Pizza Hut did. According to research company Welwyn Research Limited, 75% of consumers said the new Handcrafted range tasted better than Pizza Hut’s current classic dough base and 92% said they’d buy the pizza over the current classic dough range.
To celebrate Handcrafted, Pizza Hut is launching a new creative campaign platform: "Together We Pizza." This is about enjoying a delicious meal with friends or family, or alone whilst watching a film. Its aim is to be a reminder that pizza connects people, for so many occasions and moments in everyday life – whether flying solo for a quick lunch, enjoying a weeknight treat at home or feasting on pizza after a game at the weekend, the secret ingredient is always Pizza Hut.
