Chiquito expands vegan offering in breakfast, kids menu

The latest vegan additions feature sausages and eggs.

Chiquito unveiled its expanded vegan offerings for both breakfast and kids menu, featuring plant-based sausages and eggs.

The meatless sausages are made with seitan or wheat gluten and soya with herbs and spices, whilst the vegan eggs are made with tofu, coconut milk, onion, red pepper, black turtle beans, butternut squash and chipotle chilli.

These plant-based proteins are mixed in the Mexican chain’s new breakfast items: Vegan Sizzler, Vegan Breakfast Burrito and Vegan Chimichangas.

Meanwhile, the latest additions to the kids menu are the Banana Blossom Bites, served with oat fraiche, and the Mexican Bean Stew with vegan cheese.

“Both the breakfast and the new kids menu stay true to our core objectives by driving innovation, accessibility and fun and as having guest choice at the heart, whilst understanding growing trends, this menu allows Chiquito to be more accessible to guests that seek vegan options,” managing director Angelo Gabrilatsou said in a statement.

The new vegan items are available across Chiquito’s 78 locations across the UK.
