Harry Ramsden celebrates its 90th year with the launch of new offerings
The new range still firmly focused on fish - the produce most closely associated with the brand.
Now, though, sitting alongside its classic favourites which include Harry’s fish and chips, is a new range of innovative menu items specifically designed with a new generation of customer in mind.
As well as the introduction of Harry’s legendary fish and chips in the largest portion size ever, in a double first, a host of new flavour choices will be available and served with spicy rice. Sri Lankan Fish Curry, Peri Peri, Spicy Jerk, Cajun Fishbites and Seabass fillets served with sweet pesto are just a few of the new items making their debut on Harry’s new range of summer menus for 2018.
Sam Wignell, Harry Ramsden’s brand director, said, “We have literally spiced up our menu and can now offer fish dishes in a newer and more innovative way because we understand there can be a marked difference in taste between the generations. Our traditional offerings remain exceptionally popular with longer standing fans of the brand, however with a new generation of customer in mind, we have added a range of options including the spicier Lighter Bite section in full service and assisted service outlets, and Rice Boxes within our QSRs, to offer customers new ways to enjoy our sustainably sourced fish.”
The “bursting with flavour” theme continues into the brand’s new and enhanced, seaside inspired Dessert choices which now also include Doughnut Sandwiches, Eton Mess, Mango Knickerbocker Glory and the Super Sundae sharing plate filled with vanilla, strawberry, chocolate ice creams topped with Oreos, toffee, sprinkles and chocolate to create the ultimate seaside sweet treat!
The new menus officially launch in Harry Ramsden's outlets across the country on the 11th of May, 2018. QSR Media went to find out more about the menu range:
QSR Media: Who is the new menu targeted at?
This isn’t aimed at any one specific audience group, rather we are broadening the appeal of the menu by adding in new flavour profiles and serve styles like the Sri Lankan Fish Curry. However, we will always have great tasting Fish & Chips at the heart of our offer, as we have done for 90 years.
QSR Media: Will there be any social media / ad campaigns running alongside the new menu?
There will be and we will start adding imagery and info via social channels shortly, highlighting the various new options available in our different restaurant formats.
QSR Media: Have any menu items been taken off? If so, which ones?
We’ve removed Mussels from a number of outlets, as well as Breadboard Boards, Sausage & Mash, Rack of Ribs, Half British Chicken, 50/50 Chicken & Ribs and Greek Salad Bowl, replacing them with other great tasting options
QSR Media: How much of a change is the new dessert menu?
We’ve added 4 new dessert choices and further enhanced our great tasting brownie.
