Costa Coffee opens its first “commuter-focused” store

It is one of eight mini-stores set to open at stations across London.

Costa Coffee opened its first “commuter-focused” concept store in Lewisham Station in London on 24 August.

The brand said that the Lewisham Station store is one of eight new mini-format stores that will be opening in some of London’s “busiest” railway stations over the next six months.

All such stores can only accommodate takeaway orders and operate with contactless payment options. Some stores will have self-service ordering screens as well. The new mini-format stores are said to be focused on “delivering a quick and efficient service, whilst not compromising on quality”.

Costa Coffee said that the new stores’ layout and ordering system has been designed “to have customers in and out of the store in just a few minutes”.
