Pizza Express to offer takeaway pasta: report

The casual dining chain is said to be looking to overhaul its business amidst debts.

Pizza Express is looking to launch a pasta delivery service in a push to bring in sales during the pandemic.

The Financial Times reported that the company is considering introducing the delivery-only service as a separate brand to its pizza business.

Pizza Express, which is owned by Chinese private equity group Hony Capital, is said to be eyeing a UK launch of the brand within the next couple of weeks alongside an existing delivery agreement with Deliveroo.

The move comes amidst mounting debts that have left the pizza chain owing bondholders and its owner £1.1 billion.
