Starbucks' Pride Park Stadium site closes, set to become independent coffee shop

The Backyard is set to open on July 23.

The Starbucks site at Pride Park Stadium has closed ahead of its big relaunch as an independent coffee shop towards the end of July.

Derby County has announced that it is launching its very own coffee shop – The Backyard – on July 23 with 200 Degrees Coffee as their supplier for their beans.

Full details of food options are set to be announced “in due course.”

“It goes without saying that the coffee shop market has seen explosive growth in the UK over the last few years, and now we also want to offer locals and commuters high quality food options with the flexibility to grab it on the go if need be,” ClubDCFC General Manager Steve Fletcher said.

“Everyone at 200 Degrees is very excited to be working with Derby County, supplying the coffee and machines for their fantastic new coffee shop. Our beans are roasted at the other end of Brian Clough Way and we will be on hand to add our expertise to the already first-class hospitality at Pride Park,” Tom Vincent, Director at 200 Degrees Coffee, added.
