Turkish-inspired bakery and wine concept to launch in London
Oklava Bakery + Wine concept will take over the site of the casual dining concept Kyseri located in Fitzrovia.
A new bakery and wine concept featuring Turkish-inspired dishes is slated to open in London on 21 January.
Serving daily, the Oklava Bakery + Wine concept will take over the site of the casual dining concept Kyseri located in Fitzrovia.
The new store will feature a working kitchen, redesigned to fit a large deck oven with an additional cool room, and front bakery. A retail and takeaway section will sell hot and cold drinks, wine and sandwiches, amongst others.
Breads, such as the bagel Simit, Daily Börek, a dough filled pastry, and Pogaca, brioche-type bun, as well as Pide flatbread will be offered in the latest bakery concept.
Turkish breakfast and brunch will be served, including Menemen, fried eggs and pastirma, kaymak and whipped feta on toast.
The new concept will offer lunch and dinner dishes, like Tepsi Kebab, a combination of spiced beef and lamb baked kofte, yogurt and brown butter with house bread and chopped salad. Both lunch and dinner items will be offered with a 50% discount from 15 to 18 January during the store’s soft opening.
A takeaway and online pre-order service options will be available for select dishes and bakery products.
The store will also offer a selection of wine, including Arcadia Pinot Gris and orange wine Vita Vinea Kisi.
Owners Selin Kiazim and Laura Christie, who also run two Oklava concepts in London, have launched a Kickstarter campaign last 4 December which has raised twice their initial target of £10,000 from 140 backers for the site renovation.
