Westminster City Council thumbs down Greggs' application
The UK chain's plans were "half-baked," according to the council.
Popular bakery chain, Greggs, was not allowed to open its flagship store from 23:00 until 5:00 after its application to Westminster City to extend its time to sell food in Leicester Square was declined.
The bakery is open from 6:00 to 23:00 from Monday to Saturday.
The licence was not granted as the bakery could be a "hotspot" for trouble.
