Wingers invests £150k to expand in-house marination facility
This comes as the company announced a 59.5% growth in like-for-like sales figures.
Wingers is planning to invest between £150k to 200K to double the size of its in-house marination facility in Aldridge, Birmingham.
The investment will cover the re-configuration of the current marination facility to include a secure delivery van unit, extended refrigeration area from an eight-pallet cold room to a 30 to 40-pallet fridge, plus an upper-level mezzanine store for non-refrigerated goods.
According to Dylan Sunner, co-founder of Wingers and Director of Production and Logistics, having a reliable and established supply chain for goods is key to their goal of minimising costs for franchisees.
“Last year we took our marination process in-house to ensure absolute consistency in our product. As we continue to expand, we need to manage the in-house production of our fresh marinated chicken for up to 50 stores, so this substantial investment is for the benefit of both our existing and new franchisees alike,” Summer said.
Previously, Wingers recently announced 59.5% growth in like-for-like sales figures for its established franchised restaurants over the past year and also aims to quadruple its transport and delivery capacity.
