64% British consumers say eating, drinking brands can be more eco-friendly
Nearly half of consumers said a venue’s sustainability choices are important.
Almost two thirds of UK consumers said eating and drinking out venues should do more to cut environmental harm, Foodprint from Nutritics’ Sustainability Sentiment Index showed.
Almost half said a venue's commitment to sustainability is necessary when spending.
A quarter of consumers would like to know the carbon footprint of a meal when eating out.
Only 35% said they have the right information to make eco-friendly food choices.
Stephen Nolan, CEO of Foodprint from Nutritics said, “It’s evident that a significant – and increasing - number of consumers are trying to make better choices to make the planet a greener place. Operators are in a powerful position to use their resources, including technology, not only to accelerate their own journey to net zero but also in doing so to drive increased footfall from environmentally savvy diners.
