Glenton's Bakery eyes expansion plans after Barclays backing
The chain operates nine shops across Northumberland.
Ashington-based Glenton’s Bakery has revealed its expansion plans after receiving funding from Barclays.
Insider Media reports that the company also intends to invest in new kit and equipment. The chain, established in 2006, operates nine shops across Northumberland and is set to open an additional site in Blythe.
"We’ve scaled up the business at pace and decided we had the capacity to launch a new outlet in Blythe," managing director Keith Glenton said.
"We’ve also invested in new machinery which makes our operation a lot more efficient and environmentally responsible and we’re delighted that Barclays has recognised our potential and supported our growth plans."
