SSP Group adds two food and beverage stores in Frankfurt Airport

This is also BackWerk and Le Crobag's debut in the German airport.

Food and beverage operator SSP Group is is adding two food and beverage stores to its portfolio at Frankfurt Airport: BackWerk and the French-inspired bakery chain Le Crobag.

Also serving as Germany’s first self-service bakery, BackWerk is considered to be one of the most successful franchises in the country’s bakery industry. Its latest store at Frankfurt Airport measures 145 square metres in size and seats up to 30 people.

Le Crobag, meanwhile, has a 33 square metre unit that comprises a comfortable seating area, reflecting a traditional French bistro style.

“As Germany’s largest bakery, we are convinced that our experience in quick-service catering will be ideal to meet the demands at the airport. We are developing a new, commercially valuable channel," Karl Brauckmann, Managing Director of BackWerk Management GmbH, said in a statement.

David Huschidarian, Head of Business Development at Le Crobag, added: “Commuters as well as long-distance passengers can now treat themselves to oven-fresh, original French croissants and baguette specialties for their journey.”
